No big surprise that there haven't been any entries. The grand prize is only $10,000. But that's not the real kicker. In order to win the "Marriage for a Lifetime Contest" you have agree to abstinence.
That's right. As the deadline of October 31st is fast approaching, not a single couple has stepped to the challenge and it appears that no one will. Why not? To win this contest, the couple has to agree not to have sex before the wedding.
"Someone asked me, 'Is anyone going to respond?' " said contest organizer Phillippia Faust, director of Marriage Appreciation Training Uplifting Relationship Education, MATURE, a nonprofit organization not affiliated with any church.
"There is a romantic end of it, but we are also looking for a couple that is committed and who will work through struggles. And we are looking for a couple that is choosing a lifestyle that is not compromising, and premarital sex is a compromiser," she added.
