Marriage for a Lifetime Contest

No big surprise that there haven't been any entries. The grand prize is only $10,000. But that's not the real kicker. In order to win the "Marriage for a Lifetime Contest" you have agree to abstinence.

That's right. As the deadline of October 31st is fast approaching, not a single couple has stepped to the challenge and it appears that no one will. Why not? To win this contest, the couple has to agree not to have sex before the wedding.

"Someone asked me, 'Is anyone going to respond?' " said contest organizer Phillippia Faust, director of Marriage Appreciation Training Uplifting Relationship Education, MATURE, a nonprofit organization not affiliated with any church.

"There is a romantic end of it, but we are also looking for a couple that is committed and who will work through struggles. And we are looking for a couple that is choosing a lifestyle that is not compromising, and premarital sex is a compromiser," she added.

Chrissy Popadics Wedding Weekend Marred by Racism

Racism on the rise? You would think in 2008 these sorts of things wouldn't be necessary. But apparently not.

Boise State star football player Ian Johnson and girlfriend Chrissy Popadics are getting married this weekend. They got engaged on national TV after the Fiesta Bowl in January. Now Johnson has had to hire security for the ceremony because of stupid racist threats the couple’s been getting (he’s black, she’s white).

Chrissy Popadics Proposal

It was an unusual move. But a great proposal.

For about a two-week period in early 2007, there wasn't a more famous college football player in the country than Boise State running back Ian Johnson.

Ian Johnson made headlines for his play and his proposal after the 2007 Fiesta Bowl.
He scored the winning two-point conversion on a Statue of Liberty play to clinch the Broncos' stunning 43-42 Fiesta Bowl overtime victory over Oklahoma. Johnson - who ran for 101 yards and a touchdown against the Sooners - hadn't even finished his postgame interview when he got down on one knee and proposed to Boise State cheerleader Chrissy Popadics.

Johnson and Popadics spent the next week conducting a flurry of interviews on various morning news shows before marrying in Boise that summer.
